    Cheek Enhancement

Restore volume and improve definition of your cheeks and face for a more youthful look.

Cheeks are central to our features, supporting and enhancing the eyes and jaw line. Loss of volume and definition in the mid-face and cheek area are often one of the first signs of ageing that could benefit from cheek enhancement.

Cheek enhancement uses dermal fillers to re-sculpt the cheeks for a curvier, plumper, and more youthful look. Dr Nicole recommends temporary, reversible hyaluronic acid fillers to minimise potential long-term complications.

At our skin clinics in Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire, we use a leading filler brand in the market made from hyaluronic acid which is broken down over time by your own natural enzymes.

As a Specialist Dermatologist, Dr Nicole has an in-depth knowledge of the skin and facial anatomy which is essential for carrying out dermal filler treatments safely. Dr Nicole tailors your treatment towards achieving ideal facial proportions and believes in giving honest opinions on treatments for natural-looking results.

    Frequently Asked Questions

About Cheek Enhancement at Dr Nicole Dermatology
      • What do dermal fillers contain?

Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid (which is naturally present in our skin) in a smooth gel. For cheek enhancement, they are expertly injected into selected treatment areas to replace lost volume, replenish hollows and add shape and definition.

      • What results can I expect?

Dermal fillers usually give immediate results following the procedure. The results will depend on your individual requirements and will be discussed fully during the consultation. We always aim to use these treatments to enhance your natural features, giving natural-looking results.

      • As time passes, what happens to the dermal filler in my cheeks?

Dermal fillers are gels made from hyaluronic acid. As hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in our skin, it is broken down by our own bodies and reabsorbed.

      • How long do the results last?

This can vary from one person to the next as individual metabolism affects the length of results. It also depends on the type of dermal filler, but generally speaking the fillers we use last around 6 to 18 months.

      • How long does the treatment take?

You will usually be with us for about 30 minutes. Your first consultation usually includes a full facial analysis, and discussion of your concerns and treatment options.

      • What about aftercare?

We are committed to providing the very best aftercare for great results. We will go through everything in detail before your treatment but you can rest assured that swelling, redness or minor bruising will usually subside soon after the treatment. Avoid sun beds, saunas, steam rooms and extreme temperatures until any redness or swelling subsides. It is also important not to wear make-up for a minimum of 2 hours after your treatment. Detailed information on aftercare will be given at the consultation.

      • Is the treatment pain free?

Discomfort is usually minor, but this can vary from person to person. Dermal fillers contain a local anaesthetic to reduce pain and we can also apply a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to improve your comfort.

      • Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are a relatively safe treatment and millions of procedures have been carried out. Complications are uncommon and allergic reactions are very rare. It is important to ensure that treatment is done by a fully-qualified professional with an in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy and experience to minimise the risk of complications. A full discussion of the potential risks will be carried out at consultation, before any procedure is undertaken.

    1 Consultation

Your expert consultation gives you the perfect opportunity to ask any questions you might have. We will talk through all you need to know about cheek enhancement, assess your skin, perform a full facial analysis and discuss your aims to develop a treatment plan that is exactly right for you. Full information on what the procedure involves, risks and aftercare instructions will be given. Before and after photos can be shown at consultation to give you an idea of what the treatment can achieve.

    2 The Treatment

Your treatment duration will vary, but your full appointment will usually be about 30-60 minutes. We can offer a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

    3 Aftercare

Avoid sun beds, saunas, steam rooms and extreme temperatures until any redness or swelling subsides. We also advise not to apply any make-up for a minimum of 2 hours after treatment. A follow-up appointment to assess your results can be offered after your first treatment. Alternatively, a telephone follow-up consultation can be arranged at your convenience.
