Dr Nicole Chiang is a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist who has completed specialist training
in cosmetic, medical and surgical dermatology and has a particular interest in hair disorders. She founded the Lumiere Clinic in Manchester to provide a comprehensive range of services in dermatology that could help patients to achieve clear, healthy skin and enhance their aesthetic look in a safe and effective way.
Collaborating with a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and an Advanced Laser Practitioner, Nicole is able to provide personalised treatments for her clients, offering unbiased, honest and informed advice on the surgical and non-surgical options available to them that would best suit them and their desired outcomes. Whether helping clients to tackle acne and spots, restore hair loss, even out skin tone or carry out a full face rejuvenation, Nicole and her team put their clients first, engaging them in profound consultations so as to establish exactly what their client is looking for from their skin and how they can help them achieve this.
Nicole, who is a registered consultant in the NHS in Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire, and is trained in both paediatric and adult dermatology, has accrued a great deal of expertise throughout her career. Having completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Liverpool, Nicole underwent general medical training and then pursued her dermatology higher specialist training in Birmingham and Manchester. She then went on to complete two advanced Dermatology Fellowships in Oxford, UK and Sydney, Australia. Prior to her return to Manchester, Nicole travelled to the US where she gained further experience in medical and cosmetic dermatology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, and the Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Health Centre, Pittsburgh.
Nicole is a Medical Advisor for the charity Melanoma UK and is passionate about raising awareness for the prevention and treatment of skin cancer, regularly performing skin and mole checks at charitable events, for professional sports teams and corporate partners. To stay abreast of the latest dermatological advancements, she regularly reads and contributes to dermatological journals and is the sub-section Editor of the International Journal of Women’s Dermatology. Nicole also sits on various boards for dermatological associations, including the British Association of Dermatologists’ Therapy and Guidelines Subcommittee and as a Founding Committee Member of the British Society for Medical Dermatology, among others.
Today, Nicole and her clinic are thriving in the hub of Manchester city centre, welcoming patients from all across the UK. There is a strong bond between the team at Lumiere, who support each other to ensure that every patient is receiving the best possible care. Recruited for their willingness to grow, learn and work as a team, the clinic’s staff are united in their complementary skillsets which have helped Lumiere to develop to become a leading dermatological clinic of Manchester.
Business activity has not been impeded by the ongoing pandemic, but in fact has seen an increase for three principal reasons; first, complications of wearing PPE such as hand dermatitis and rosacea flares; second, the stress and anxiety of the pandemic that leads to the aggravation of existing skin conditions like eczema; and finally, patients being unable to receive their usual care under the NHS and turning to private treatments instead.
In addition, demand for natural looking improvements in aesthetic appearance are also on the rise, as the increase in video conferences and meetings has seen patients becoming more conscious of their own facial appearance. The clinic is also expanding its range of medical hair treatments for patients who are considering alternative treatments to hair transplantation or want to maintain the density of their hair after transplantation.
Consequently, it is a busy and exciting time for the clinic and Nicole, who has recently launched her own Dr Nicole Dermatology Specialist Skincare range, which is now available to purchase online. Moreover, Lumiere continues to expand its range of medical, surgical and device-based treatments to ensure that Nicole and her team are able to provide truly bespoke treatments for their patients and help them to attain the beautiful, healthy and clear skin that they deserve.”
