The Cosmelan procedure is a one-time only treatment. During your initial skin consultation, maintenance treatments may be suggested.
When will I be able to see results?
It’s expected to experience decent results after just one Cosmelan treatment. Depending on the skin condition and concerns, this might happen as soon as 2 weeks after therapy or as late as 4-8 weeks after treatment. External and internal variables will always necessitate pigmentation maintenance.
What is the usual downtime for Cosmelan?
The Cosmelan Depigmentation Procedure is a resurfacing procedure that requires 10-12 days of recovery time. For the first three days after treatment, your skin will be red, puffy, and heated, and then peeling will begin. Up to 7-10 days of peeling and dryness are to be expected. Sun exposure should be avoided during the downtime, and an SPF should be applied to protect your skin and your results. All post-treatment goods are included in the price of your therapy, which will aid in the healing process.
Can my melasma or pigmentation come back after this procedure?
Melasma is a type of hormonal pigmentation that is out of our control, regardless of how great our Cosmelan surgery is. We can’t promise that your melasma will go away completely. We take a holistic approach to pigmentation, ensuring that corrective skincare is always utilised, clinical maintenance treatments are performed, and we recommend to a naturopath for internal treatment.
How do I book in?
I ask firstly that every patient visits the clinic for a consultation first, just to do any necessary test on your skin. Following on from this I will be able to begin your treatment. To enquire, simply visit my contact page to find our details, and my team will arrange a consultation at a date and time to suit you.
