      • What are anti-wrinkle injections and how does it work?

        Anti-wrinkle injections relax facial muscles by temporarily blocking their nerve impulses. As a result of reducing muscle contraction, the lines and wrinkles overlying the muscle improve with time. When used in controlled doses by a professional practitioner, it softens facial expressions and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

      • How long do the results last?

        This can vary from one person to the next as individual metabolism affects the duration of results. It also depends on the area of treatment, but generally speaking results last approximately 3 to 4 months.

      • Which areas can be treated with anti-wrinkle injections?

        Anti-wrinkle injections are used to treat the upper face areas to treat frown and forehead lines, as well as laughter lines (also called crow’s feet). It can also be used to lift the eyebrows, slim the face, tighten the jowls, correct a downturned mouth, and improve fine lines above the upper lips.

      • What results can I expect?

        You will usually start to see some effect after a few days. Full effects can take up to 2 to 4 weeks. Results will depend on your individual requirements and will be discussed fully during the consultation. We always aim to use these treatments to enhance your natural features, aiming for natural-looking results.

      • How long does the treatment take?

        You will usually be with us for about 20-30 minutes . Your first consultation may be longer as this usually includes a full facial analysis, and discussion of your concerns and treatment options.


      • What about aftercare?

        We are committed to providing aftercare to ensure that you are happy with your treatment. We will go through everything in detail before your treatment. Any swelling, redness or minor bruising will usually subside soon after the treatment. For the first 2 hours after anti-wrinkle injections, do not rub the treated areas. Try to remain upright for the following 4 hours. For the following 48 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, extreme heat and sunbeds. Detailed information on aftercare will be given at your consultation.

      • Is the treatment pain-free?

        Discomfort is usually minor, but this can vary from person to person and it also depends on the area treated. We use a special Micro-Fine™ needle to improve comfort and can also apply a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) as an additional measure.

      • Are anti-wrinkle injections safe?

        Anti-wrinkle injections has been widely used in the field of aesthetics since 1987. It is a relatively safe treatment and millions of procedures have been carried out. Complications are uncommon and allergic reactions are very rare. It is important that your treatments are carried out by an experienced, fully-qualified and trained professional to minimise the risk of potential complications. A full discussion of the potential risks will be carried out at consultation, before any procedure is undertaken.

    Your expert consultation gives you the perfect opportunity to ask any questions you might have. We will talk through all you need to know about anti-wrinkle injections, assess your skin and perform a full facial analysis. We will also discuss your aims to develop a treatment plan that is exactly right for you. Full information on what the procedure involves, risks and aftercare instructions will be given. Before and after photos can be shown at consultation to give you an idea of what the treatment can achieve.

    2 The Treatment

    Treatment duration generally varies between 20-30 minutes, but your first appointment may be longer as this usually includes a full facial analysis, and discussion of concerns and treatment options. We use the Micro-Fine™ needle and can offer a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

    3 Aftercare

    Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, extreme heat and sunbeds for 48 hours post-treatment. Try to remain upright for the following 4 hours. It is also important not to rub the treated areas for 2 hours post-treatment. A follow-up appointment to assess your results can be offered after your first treatment. Alternatively, a telephone follow-up consultation can be arranged at your convenience.
