    Dermal Fillers

Restore volume in your face, treat tired-looking eyes, improve the shape of your face and jawline.

Dermal fillers in Manchester, Cheshire & Lancashire are a highly effective way to achieve a fresher, younger look. They can smooth away facial lines, replace lost volume, and add contour and definition to the face. Over time, our natural supplies of hyaluronic acid reduce in the skin as part of the ageing process. Our dermal fillers can replace hyaluronic acid in the skin to help you regain younger-looking skin with confidence and ease.

Dr Nicole recommends using hyaluronic acid fillers which are reversible and temporary fillers to minimise potential long-term complications. At our skin clinic, we use a leading filler brand on the market made from hyaluronic acid to deliver the best aesthetic results. The filler is broken down over time by your own natural enzymes.

As a Dermatologist based in Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire , Dr Nicole has an in-depth knowledge of the skin and facial anatomy which is essential for carrying out dermal filler treatments safely. Dr Nicole tailors your treatment towards achieving ideal facial proportions and believes in giving honest opinions on treatments for natural-looking results.

    Frequently Asked Questions

About Dermal Filler Treatments at Dr Nicole Dermatology
      • What do dermal fillers contain?

Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid (which is naturally present in our skin) in a smooth gel. They are expertly injected into selected treatment areas to replace lost volume, smoothen lines and wrinkles, enhance your lips and restore a more youthful look.

      • What results can I expect?

Our dermal fillers in Cheshire, Manchester and Lancashire usually give immediate results following the procedure. The results will depend on your individual requirements and will be discussed fully during the consultation. We always aim to use these treatments to enhance your natural features, giving natural-looking results.

      • Which areas can dermal fillers treat?

Dermal fillers can be used to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face, improve volume loss in the cheeks, temples and chin, treat tear troughs (under-eye creases and hollows), nasolabial folds (nose-to-mouth lines), improve the contour and proportions of your face, correct humps and irregularities on the nose and give you fuller lips.

      • How long do the results last?

This can vary from one person to the next as individual metabolism affects the length of results. It also depends on the area of treatment and the type of dermal filler, but generally speaking the fillers we use last around 6 to 18 months.

      • How long does the treatment take?

You will usually be with us for 30 minutes to an hour. Your first appointment is usually longer as it will include a full facial analysis, and discussion of your concerns and treatment options.

      • What about aftercare?

We are committed to providing the very best aftercare for great results. We will go through everything in detail before your treatment. Any swelling, redness or minor bruising will usually subside soon after the treatment. Avoid sun beds, saunas, steam rooms and extreme temperatures until any redness or swelling subsides. It is also important not to wear make-up for a minimum of 2 hours after your treatment. Detailed information on aftercare will be given at the consultation.

      • Is the treatment pain-free?

Discomfort is usually minor, but this can vary from person to person and depends on the area treated. We use the special Steriglide™ Aesthetic Microcannula to minimise discomfort. The dermal fillers we use also contain a local anaesthetic to reduce pain and we can also apply a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to improve your comfort further.

      • Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are a relatively safe treatment and millions of procedures have been carried out. Complications are uncommon and allergic reactions are very rare. It is important to ensure that treatment is done by a fully-qualified professional with an in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy and experience to minimise the risk of complications. A full discussion of the potential risks will be carried out at consultation, before any procedure is undertaken.

    1 Consultation

Your expert consultation gives you the perfect opportunity to ask any questions you might have. We will talk through all you need to know about dermal fillers, assess your skin and suitability for dermal filler treatments, perform a full facial analysis and discuss your aims to develop a treatment plan that is exactly right for you. Full information on what the procedure involves, risks and aftercare instructions will be given. Before and after photos can be shown at consultation to give you an idea of what the treatment can achieve.

    2 The Treatment

Treatment duration generally varies between 20-30 minutes, but your first appointment may be longer as this usually includes a full facial analysis, and discussion of concerns and treatment options. We can offer a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

    3 Aftercare

Avoid sun beds, saunas, steam rooms and extreme temperatures until any redness or swelling subsides. We also advise not to apply any make-up for a minimum of 2 hours after treatment. A follow-up appointment to assess your results can be offered after your first treatment. Alternatively, a telephone follow-up consultation can be arranged at your convenience.
